CEBU, AUGUST 23, 2021 --- Kudos to Waterfront hotels for having taken it as a moral obligation to be an essential in the mass vaccination against Covid-19 now that more people are seeking the jabs for added protection, on top of the observance of the minimum health protocols.
Converting a section of its facility into an inoculation site, dubbed “Bakuna para sa Lahat” for Lapu-Lapu residents, is its corporate social responsibility program to assist the country jump back to its feet toward a better normal setting.
The “Bakuna para sa Lahat” center opened last July 21 with a total of 5,108 vaccinees from that day to July 30. From August 2 to August 17, the center recorded a total of 9,674 vaccinees. It operates Mondays to Fridays from 8 am to 5 pm, catering to walk-ins with QR (quick response) code, and prioritizing senior citizens and individuals with a schedule.
The site, however, only caters to those working in Lapu-Lapu City who can present a valid company identification card or a valid ID indicating residence in Lapu-Lapu City. The person may also show proof of residency like a barangay clearance.
Vaccine brand depends on the availability. The brand being administered offers a one-dose jab.

Meanwhile, the Bakuna Center in Waterfront Cebu City Hotel & Casino in Lahug opened in August 5. As of August 17, there is already a total of 3,693 vaccinees.
The center replies via short message service in confirming one’s schedule. The team encourages bringing of own pen to minimize contact.
Last year, the Gatchalian family with its patriarch, Mr. William Gatchalian, in response to the needs of the challenging times, already distributed face masks and face shields using personal funds amounting to P20 million.
The face masks and face shields were distributed in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao areas.
When the family saw of the need for private sector participation in vaccination efforts, they mounted the first hotel vaccination sites in the country which are the Waterfront Insular Hotel Davao in Davao City, Waterfront Mactan in Lapu-Lapu City, and Waterfront Lahug in Cebu City. Vaccines are free of charge.
The family instructed hotel administrators to see to it that the medical personnel are provided with stipend and meals, as well as vaccinees get light snacks.
Moreover, the family sent basic goods in 240 boxes (assorted canned goods, coffee, sugar, milk, noodles, among others) to Tuguegarao City in the Province of Cagayan on August 14 after it was placed under enhanced community quarantine.#
